Description

OVER 160 PICS! This is a show-quality example of one of Mother Mopar's C-body convertibles for 1968, the Chrysler Newport. 1 of only 2847 produced. You simply will not find a nicer example anywhere, plus you'll be the only one at car shows and cruise nights. If you're tired of being disappointed by cars that don't live up to their pics or description, then you owe it to yourself to see this one in person. I will also have videos available soon. Essential info is listed below for a quick read, and much more detail below that for those interested. Please look at all the pictures, especially those of the body and paint, to understand just how nice this car really is. ESSENTIALS: * Factory 383 big block, now with a 4bbl intake and carb. * 727 automatic * Factory AC (yes, it works!) * Factory cruise control (yes, it works!) * PS, PB, P-top (yes, it works!), dual outside mirrors (driver remote), light group, factory tinted glass, plus rare AM/FM thumbwheel radio. * ZERO rust, all original body panels, 1 (excellent) repaint in factory HH1 (Antique Ivory), with added pearl. * New dual exhaust * Runs and drives excellent in every way. DETAILS--Paint and Body: * Absolutely rust-free body, not a single hole, bubble, crack, tape line, or weird discolored area anywhere. * Excellent, straight body panels with excellent gaps. Everything opens and closes like butter. * Beautiful, professional paint in factory Mopar color (HH1), but with pearl added that really makes it pop in direct sunlight. (For comparison, the hue is similar to GM Butternut Yellow, Pontiac Mayfair Maize, etc). * Hood, trunk, and door jambs all properly refinished and look excellent. No rust or rot anywhere. * All chrome, stainless, and trim is like new; all new emblems when car was refinished. All glass is excellent. DETAILS--Interior: * Excellent dash, door panels, carpet (believed original), sunvisors, and upholstery--all of it super clean. * The Grant polished wood wheel is complemented by a custom mini-console that is finished in the same exact polished wood, vinyl upholstery, and carpeting as the rest of the car. Yes, the horn works properly. * Sony CD stereo works great, and sound comes through BOTH the front dash and rear seat speakers. * AC works and blows cold, however fan seems a little weak. * All in-dash gauges and lights work as designed, fender turn signals work, as does the factory cruise control. * Seat belts for 4 passengers are clean and adjust properly. * Matching parade boot fits nice and snug with all snaps in working order, w/some light wear on boot itself. * All upholstery is clean and appears original. One small split seam in rear seat on driver side. DETAILS--Engine Bay: * Extra clean engine compartment, which was repainted at same time exterior was refinished. * Original fender tag in place. * Upgraded intake manifold and 4 bbl carb necessitated chrome air cleaner assembly. * New fuel pump * Recoated exhaust manifolds in high-temp iron-gray. * Windshield washer unit/squirter WORKS! * No exhaust leaks, valve train noise, or AC compressor issues. Converted to 134. * A power steering leak is only leak underneath car. No leaks from oil pan, trans pan, or rear diff. DETAILS--Top and Trunk: * Like-new upgraded tan fabric top (not vinyl) with large GLASS rear window (no cheap plastic stuff here). * Hydraulics work excellent, top fitment/latches are very good, and all windows meet top frame nicely. * Trunk is carpeted, with matching spare tire cover, and factory jack under the spare. Trunk pan is rock solid. DETAILS--Chassis/Wheels/Tires: * No rust in floors, framerails, or trunk; lots of factory Mopar undercoating present to protect metal. * New dual exhaust, newer gas tank and shocks * Fender skirts fit amazingly well and are a breeze to take on and off. * 14" Chrysler rallies/rings/caps/tires on car now go with it with full price offer. * Otherwise, a complete set of chrome wire wheels with knocko
